Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about roof, gutter and external cleaning across Leicestershire. If we haven't covered it, call or WhatsApp 07495 885 150.

Why is moss bad for my roof?

Moss absorbs moisture that should run off your roof. As it expands between tiles it can lift and crack them, and in winter the trapped water freezes and thaws — pulling tiles apart and exposing the structure underneath.

Why don't you pressure wash roofs?

Most roof tiles have a granular coating designed to wear away slowly over decades. Pressure washing strips that coating early and can drive water under tiles, through cracks, and into the loft. We softwash instead — the only method that won't shorten the life of the roof.

Do you offer aftercare?

Yes. Once a roof has been scraped and treated, we offer a maintenance programme at a fraction of the initial cost — re-applying biocide at the right concentration to keep growth from coming back. Re-treatment typically lands between 2 and 5 years, depending on roof construction, condition, neighbouring roofs and overhanging trees.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry £10 million public liability insurance, specifically covering roof, wall, render, guttering and ground-level cleaning and restoration.

Are you qualified?

Yes. We hold the Professional Softwash Technician qualification, assured by City & Guilds.

My gutters are leaking — can you repair them?

Yes. Leaky gutters lead to damp inside the property, so they're worth fixing properly. For plastic guttering, we replace the damaged section with a like-for-like part. Some handymen reach for silicone — that's a short-term patch. The rubber seals between sections also perish over time; we carry stock of almost every guttering type so we can usually repair on the spot.
